Caroline Carstens is an experienced business communications professional with over 20 years of experience in the Marketing and Communications industry.
With a passion for growing Africa and connecting people and process, Caroline is a strategic operations consultant. She is skilled in structuring teams and setting up a business to operate successfully across Africa, for both the Edelman business itself and our clients.
Prior to being appointed COO, Africa, she was the Business Unit Director for Edelman South Africa’s Corporate Reputation practice, where she led teams specialising in corporate communications, reputation management and crisis communications.
Caroline has extensive experience running teams and managing complex organisational structures, within both corporates and agencies. Her experience includes management of business functions that extend across markets, in Africa and Europe.
She also has a broad range of experience directing projects across various stakeholder groups for accounts that follow an integrated approach to deliver work that runs across various disciplines.
Prior to Edelman, Caroline was a Business Director and part of the EXCO team at Ogilvy PR where she led the Financial Services and Medical Services practices. She also brings extensive global experience following her four years working in a London-based agency where she ran accounts across Europe.
